There have been rumours for some time already for the N9 but lets put it here still. :)

About strategy - i decide to put some info in Birulki, so if you look from 66 to 70 you find out a lot of things

While Meego will be the future high end for Nokia i really hope they keep the number of devices down. Symbian went bezerk in 2006-2007 when it went to mid price range. There where many marginally different phones and only the high selling phones really got support.

Samsung seems to be doing pretty much exactly the same thing as Nokia did back then.

Well, that definitely looks like a convincing Nokia house - as in, it wouldn't take much to knock it down..

Care to keep this thread on topic - as in, if you don't have anything to say about the subject, don't post..

What is the S series?
Will the n9 look like the n8

I'd just see the pictures and ignore whatever Eldar says - apparently that man is infuriated as to why Nokia left him off the mailing lists... Purportedly they have no reason to, and Eldar is supposedly impartial and fair.

Some people are just so blind to their own bias.

hm, this may very well be possible, considering the n8 and n9 are categorized as "eleve" (which means something like high class, top class)

would make sense to have a symbian^3 and a meego device as their top-products.

There's no guestion about it really if MeeGo/Maemo will be the top of the line phones and Symbian will be the mid and and high end.

I would have kind of wanted MeeGo phones to be it's own series with tablets and phones. Thought at least when it comes to phones N9 will work kind of as it's own series(N9-01, N9-02 etc).

Hmm, wonder how their 1 letter + 1 number scheme works out after they already have N8 and N9, and want to publish something new and better?

I think the model line names (i.e. the letter) is a good idea, but I don't see how the numbering is going to work. Also I think it will be a mistake if they mix Symbians and Linuxes in the same line+numbering scheme. It will just confuse the consumers. There's no logic in N8 = Symbian, N9 = MeeGo, they're going to be very different but only have one number between them.

Edit: I propose M-series for Maemo/MeeGo. ;-)

N8-00 is the first phone.

Newer phones in that series will be labelled N8 on the box, but number would go N8-XX.

Like the next phone would be N8-01, the one after that N8-02, so on and so forth.
