N900 in Windows via USB only has one working drive
When I plug my N900 into Windows in storage mode, it gives me two new drives - F: (Nokia N900) and G:.
F is the main storage and works fine, but when I try to open G: it asks me to insert a disk into G:. The weird thing is I'm sure this used to work pre-1.2 PR, so I'm wondering if this has boned it, or I've done something weird in the meantime to make it stop working? Basically I want to be able to access the root fs with the MyDocs directory, directly from Windows via USB. Thanks! |
Re: N900 in Windows via USB only has one working drive
Another drive is micro sd (as it was before pr 1.2) and i have understood that you can only access your mydocs folder from windows.
.edit IIRC Rootfs filesystem is not supported by windows. |

Oh yeh, duh. Sorry, I thought I had my MicroSD card in there but for some reason I have taken it out - that's what I remember working pre-1.2, not the MyDocs stuff.
I'll figure out another way to access MyDocs, thanks! edit: actually now I've actually opened my eyes and looked at what is going on and I've figured out the drive that is getting opened is actually MyDocs anyway. Duh. |
Re: N900 in Windows via USB only has one working drive
What? You do not need to figure another way to access your Mydocs (documents, video, sound). Just plug and play. As I said you cannot access rootfs system because of different file-system.

this happened to me before. try to reboot or switch it off then plug the usb.

Yes, they were there in PR 1.1, too. As for the rootfs, you can easily access that with SSH with WinSCP. (I ususally connect it via USB and select USB ethernet mode in the Mad Developer app.) |

I usually get a message on the phone screen as well. The trick is working out exactly what is using the memory card. In any event a reboot should sort it. |
