Frequent hildon-home errors (was: Smebdy pls advice.!)

Im highly highly irritated of the bloody hildon-home error coming up again and again...
it was less irritating earlier when it used to appear and i used to kill it..
all desktop widgets/shortcuts disappearing then appearing after a few seconds...

but thrs another problem i have noticed...
now when this error comes up and i kill it...
thn the widgets dissappear and reappear but not all..
tht is the calendar/contact-shortcuts/bookmark come up again and facebook/twitter/foreca dont come up again...how frustrating..

this isnt related to 1.2 because i noticed this earlier as well..though i ignored it thinkng tht it might get rectified automatically in 1.2...but it hasnt

also evn if i use the normal widgets this hildon-home error comes up about every 3-4 hours of normal usage.

all these threads i have already searched..

Even feeling a lil guilty of creating a thread on such a common topic i had to do it because after refering to all the above threads i couldnt find any conclusive solution...pls help!

Somekeys - obviously you did due diligence on finding a solution so no worries on the thread.

Can you tell us the steps you have taken.

Did you reflash? If so did you do just the fiasco or the emmc as well.
Did you try removing all the widgets and putting them back one by one - testing and making sure it was stable - then adding another?

Re: Frequent hildon-home errors (was: Smebdy pls advice.!)

its nt related to flashing or anything buddy...because it has been an issue since ive bought the phone...(nov 2009).

Steps are:

1. Normal device (wi-fi/phone/music..etc) usage.
2. Two Cases:
a. Desktop consisting of calendar, bookmarks, contact shortcuts, facebook widget, foreca widget and twitter widget.
b. Desktop consisting of calendar, bookmarks and contact shortcuts only.
3. There come a New message/New Email/Missed call.
4. New message/New Email/Missed call 'yellow' notifications on the multitasking screen stop responding. (When a new message arrives, i click the menu, the multitasking menu appears, now neither does it open on tapping it..nor does it close on tapping accurately on the 'X' sign)
5. I ignore and continue using my phone. (I click the menu again and go to conversations to check my message)
6. The new message notification still remains sometimes.
7. After sometime the hildon-home error appears.
8. I tap 'yes' to kill it.
9. Everything on desktop dissappear, only the wallpapers remain.
10. Now:
a. Contact shortcuts, bookmarks and calendar re-appear but fb, twitter and foreca dont appear.
b. Contact shortcuts, bookmarks and calendar re-appear.

All this happens in about every 3-4 hrs of normal usage, so this makes using all these widgets unusable. Because there is no point adding those widgets again and again.
Also its not only for fb, twitter or foreca...but its with every other thing on desktop other than calendar, contact shortcuts and bookmarks.

pls help!

Is it such a difficult problem?
or is it so common with everybody that nobody is even trying to pitch in with some ideas/!?

never experianced it sorry.

If you flash your device to vanila firmware and emmc and you still have the problem i would be inclind to say your phone is faulty.

Re: Frequent hildon-home errors (was: Smebdy pls advice.!)

Many others including me had posted it here .. even bug reports have been filed.. The general attitude is that, crashes happen this is a computer not a phone :) so this is to be expected..

The truth is no-one has a solution for the hildon-home crashes.. I have given up hope after I found the simple bugs which were supposedly fixed in PR1.2( like media-player widget and the calls getting rejected when pulling out the phone from a pocket) are still not fixed at all..

Sorry just frustrated when a PR adds bugs and does not remove the ones it claims to have fixed.
