It meant that the wireless is either using a restriction login method or required activation. It is when you are connected, it will ask you to enter the account details like username and password.
Some router using the registration by pressing one button connect profile. If you can connect to the wifi, you might not able to access anything. |

Yep it's an ad-hoc connection as stated by Mega. I use it to create a connection to my pc and share the VPN of my PC.
