Flashing my n900 PLEASE HELP?

After updating my phone to pr1.2 i have some issues. Some things don't work (fmms) and performance is a load of poo. I've been told to flash my emmc which should fix (aparently) So i've followed all these instructions... http://thenokiaguide.com/2010/01/11/...sets-all-data/
but when i look for my pr1.2 version its not here... http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N900.php
My version is... 10.2010.19-1.205.1
Now what??? Closest is... 10.2010.19-1.203.1 but has to match sofware version?
Either i don't know what i'm doing or my version aint there.
Someone help please. I just want my phone back :(

By the way this is the message i get when trying to send mms

Operation failed
MMSC:{'Transaction-Id':'3710',Response-Text':'Unable
To Send','MMS-Version':'1.0','Message-Type','m-send-
conf','Response-Status':'Error-service-denied','Message-
ID':'f3EoTMYSIIj3AgAAsAt44mu4AQAAAAAA'}

Whatever that means?? I've managed to send about two pictures
but i've tried loads of times, uninstalling reinstalling but no joy.
Defo something gone wrong when i updated because its just not as fast and can't multitask anywhere near as well.

Help???

The eMMC and rootfs/FIASCO images don't have to have the same build identifiers.

EDIT: It seems you have the vodafone firmware. I'm not familiar with where those images can be downloaded, but others have said the standard UK images work fine with vodafone N900s. Wait for someone else to elaborate; don't go on my word alone.

You'll want (region is below the build identifier)

Code:

RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.13-2.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin
for the eMMC, and one of the following, depending on your location.

Code:

RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1.002_PR_COMBINED_002_ARM.bin
USA PR1.2

Code:

RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1.003_PR_COMBINED_003_ARM.bin
Middle East/North Africa PR1.2

Code:

RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1.004_PR_COMBINED_004_ARM.bin
India PR1.2

Code:

RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1.203.1_PR_COMBINED_203_ARM.bin
UK PR1.2 (not vodafone)

Code:

RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin
Global PR1.2

I'm in the UK, and just tried this last night - worked a treat. Phone works much better now. Followed the instructions from here: http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_t...ng_your_device and it seems to have fixed missing dependencies, added available applications; it seems more stable, and faster as well. This really needs to be flagged as the first point of call as soon as people hit problems after running the 1.2 over-the-network update (it doesn't seem to do the job properly). It is a PITA setting everything up again afterwards (but I guess the more you do, the closer you get to what your really want/need on the phone/desktop).

Mish.

For UK Voda users just run the UK PR1.2 update. and get rid of any stupid Vodafone dependancy.

Re: Flashing my n900 PLEASE HELP?

This reply is a bit late so appologies everyone.
I've discovered that some of my apps (don't know which ones) had something to do with my problems, i've noticed since i reinstalled pr1.2 via nokia pc suit that my phone performed great, i ran back up but only for my contacts and a couple of stable apps that i kno are ok. some of the others arn't even available anymore even at ovi store which says to me that they arn't compatable with pr1.2 but you can retrieve thenm by restore in application manager which is what i did first time round and caused me a headache.
So... if anyone else has similar problems don't restore your apps via backup, make a note of them instead and just search and install one by one if they're still available for pr1.2
One more thing, fmms still not working on vodafone since update but i'm not the only one, any clues on how to fix be very appreciated
Nath

I need help as I've attempted to flash my phone the instructions seem straight forward for using the cmd dialogue but I'm lost at #6 "Change the directory to the Flasher's path (TIP: Use the TAB key to auto-complete the commands and file-names)" if someone can just explain to me as I seem to get it but can't get to make sense I feel rather dull now (very unusual):(

Just run the "program" from the start menu. It gets you the same result.
