Remote control Media-Renderer with Media-Streamer | uPnP Push | does it work for you?
Hi,
in another forum i read about the abiliy to control media-renderer (streaming-clients) with the Media-Streamer SW on my N800. That would be great  so i tried and found my Client (Netgear EVA700) in the drop-down-menu on top of the 'now-playing'-part in the Media Streamer. If i select this and push play it starts for a second (scroll bar) an then stops. No message on my EVA700, no sound, no error - nothing Could anybody tell me how this should work? Does this work with all Media-Renderer? The EVA700 can't "see" my N800, it only recognises my TwonkyMedia-Server. Should there be a N800-entry in the availible-Server-list which i have to chose before i can control it out of the Media Streamer? Please help me :( |
Re: Remote control Media-Renderer with Media-Streamer | uPnP Push | does it work for
It should work pretty much as you said.
Make sure you are connected to WLAN access point (the one you have your media server and renderer connected to). 1. Start Media Streamer 2. Select Netgear from the dropdown list. This makes Netgear as the active renderer 3. Browse media server (e.g. Twonkymedia) and add an audio track (e.g. any MP3 will do) to playlist -> playback should start (assuming that the playlist was empty, otherwise you should tap Play) This is how it works with renderers in general. If it does not work, then most likely netgear does not understand the "commands" sent by Media Streamer. Media Streamer should not be "seen" by netgear since MS is not a media server. |
