Java Programming and Run application
hi
i very search about run java application on nokia n900 but don't find easy way for this topic help me plz |
Re: Java Programming and Run application
Start by searching for a JRE that's been ported to the N900. You'll need this to be able to run anything that has been compiled for Java.

Re: Java Programming and Run application
its microemulator
but it doesnt work i've tried it.. it has issues.. and its slow and its effed up i prefer native than emulator -__- *why can a 400mhz run java and a 600mhz cant?* |
Re: Java Programming and Run application
There is e.g. the "icedtea JDK" available.
Just search in the application manager for icedtea6. This will install a complete JDK. For more details see: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=51871 You can also run SWT applications with the native Hildon UI look and feel: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=40778 And in case you want to run J2ME applications you might give microemulator a try: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=52341 |

Re: Java Programming and Run application
Microemu is not really a emu. I dont know if you know how java works and what the difference between java en other programming languages. If you know that you would know why microemu is not an emu
BTW, try to be more specific when you have a problem. And try to make full sentences. |
Re: Java Programming and Run application
it is a java emu
coz the apps dont get installed and ebuddy wont run.. it will jus start, show the first screen *the blue thingy* and thats it and is laggy and no, i'm 17, not a programmer and not a nerd either and my primary subject is bio and i'm ok with technical stuff and im not a programmer so stop trying to compete with me 8-) |
Re: Java Programming and Run application
Wonko gave you the solution: OpenJDK. Thats the best you are going to get; The only Java Sun has released for ARM, IIRC, won't work with Maemo 5/N900.
OpenJDK is just about as good anyway, and being an OSS app, can/will be compiled -for- the N900's processor, and not just a generic ARM processor(So it can take advantage of all features). -Rob |
