Photo messaging - N900
Now this has been bugging me since Nokia sent me the N900 at the beginning of the year
I can`t seemt io send an picture messages. When I take a picture it only stays on screen for a second and doesn`t give me an option to send as sms I get geotag/bin/share but not send as sms I also go to the pitcure afterwards and still the same issue I set up an SMS and can`t attach anything Anyone have any suggestions? |
Re: Photo messaging - N900
You can't send a photo as SMS. Messages with photos are called MMS and N900 doesn't officially support them but you can install app called fMMS for support.

WTF....doesn`t support MMS..........I remember when I got this phone that despite telling them I was on the 3 network, they hadn`t got the software version to run on the network. Seems like with this model they are getting on the I-Phone bandwagon and releasing substandard products. I will search for FMMS app......will this be on OVI do you know/think? |
Re: Photo messaging - N900
No, fMMS is in the maemo extras repository, you should find it with application manager.
Help for setting it up here http://wiki.maemo.org/MMS |
Re: Photo messaging - N900
I have had fMMS running for quite some time now. It takes a long time to send a picture (compared to my old N95) but it does get there. I tried sending a small sound file just now using the same program, but I don't think it liked that!

fMMS needing manual configuration to get it to work. You'll have to know your carrier details. Not hard to find though. fMMS is available through Extra-devel repository. Be aware that Extra is for testing apps that are not yet passed the quality control. So install at your own risk. I reflashed mine twice in two days because one of the application stuffed up my hildon-desktop. :) just a heads up. |
