Err, Ubuntu can mount an SSH filesystem and have it show up in its file manager. Why would you need Winscp?

Re: winscp on ubuntu 10.04?
I'm not at home right now so I can't give the precise instructions. But it should be on the top menu bar where it lists things like Applications, Places, Settings, etc. You know it's the right one if you click on it and it lists all your folders (assuming you haven't deleted the top panel bar in Ubuntu). There should be an option to mount it from there.

You can use Filezilla selecting sftp server.

GFTP should be available in the repos.

Don't forget scp itself, which you can use in the terminal. Not like WinSCP, I admit. For the file-system stuff, you'll be looking at fuse and sshfs, I expect.

Re: winscp on ubuntu 10.04?
Both Gnome and KDE have virtual filesystems that allow you to do scp/ftp from any gnome/kde program's fileselector.
eg in KDE programs use something like: sftp://root@10.0.0.1/home/user/MyDocs/ in the location bar of the fileselector. |
