An N900, a 5 years old child, a car, and 2 x 4h to spend

Hi!

I'm heading out for a trip with my little girl and wonder how I can make best use of the N900 during the journey.

Her favourites so far:
Bounce evolution
Gcompris
Brain Party
Maps (She likes to follow the red dot, but it's probably more fun in an urban environment than on the highway).
Tunewiki
Just installed:
Tuxpaint
Tuxracer
Will copy to the device:
Some of her favourite DVDs (Is there any way to create shortcuts to videos on the desktop?)
I'd love to include:
www.starfall.com (however, I won't be connected to the Internet during the trip due to exorbitant roaming charges, so could I download some of these?).
Once I reach destination I guess we'll make good use of the video-out cable as well.

PS! Just in case you're wondering... I'm not planning to leave her with the N900 for the duration of the trip! Most of it will be playing watergames and visiting animal farms. ;)

Thanks for any additional suggestions!

Good luck with that. My 5 year old tries to get his hands on mine all the time. He's also very good at navigating the interface, tho he doesn't read yet.

His favorites:

Angry Birds
SuperTux
Brain Party (Tho he needs me to read the instructions every time they come up)

He also watches YouTube videos on the phone. Mostly Megaman gameplays for some reason.

I let my 2 year old baby brother play with my N900, he likes using the basic sketch app haha.

I had a second n900 that I used for just this purpose.

have a 4 and 6 yr old

angry birds and sketch app and a bunch of ripped cartoons and tv shows

Used TV out cable to ceiling mounted dvd player, worked great.

I see a chance to do a little advertisement for my game here...

Three words: Them Bloody Ducks!

No reading skills needed so suitable for children and grown ups all ages.

if your kid is under 3, then make sure the n900 is protected from dropping to the floor(w/ things like a hand strap).

good luck

I suggest trying PicoDrive and DrNokNes emulators. Sonics and Marios are great for all ages :D

You could also get some very cool shots from your trip trying the QuickPanorama app.
