does anyone else constantly have a wifi connection 'musgo' always available even when there's no network around??? i'm not too knowledgable in the whole tech world, i just love having the internet always on. this thing rock and definately is worth the wait. this MUST be the future of the internet.

I have that one too. It's an Ad Hoc connection. These always show up even when the other computer is out of range. I'm just not sure where this one came from. I don't think it has always been there on mine...

Does anyone know the origin of the 'musgo' connection?

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one....I thought it just picked it up off of someone's misconfigured laptop while at the university I attend today. My only guess is that it is adhoc. I'll have to try it out and see.

yep, it's ad hoc. Wish that infrastructure saved connections would pop up as fast.

Yep, confirm that musgo as well on mine..
Wasnt there at first but poped up one day and is there constantly now..
Bizzare huh.

I noticed it after the software upgrade ...
I suppose it is provided to ease an ad-hoc connection to your PC (where you would then bridge the LAN & WLAN ...)

What I would like is a way of permitting the 770 to connect to any configured and previuosly accepted WLAN ie connect to my home WLAN when I'm home & to my work WLAN when I'm at work ...

Do you have Doom installed on your 770 ? Doom creates a prefered ad-hoc connection called musgo.

aflegg 2005-12-06 13:32

It's an ad-hoc network defined when Doom's started (even not in multiplayer mode).

Ah, Samuel beat me to it. Serves me right for not refreshing the page before clicking Reply.

I got rid of doom b/c it seemed to mess everything up. Is there a way to getrid of this ad hoc connection? Thank you all for the help
