N900 stops ringing after about 5 seconds
 

Latest problem with my n900.
when ever anybody rings me it will ring for about 5 seconds then go to answer phone. in the settings it says ring for 20 seconds.
also when i call someone it takes a good 20 seconds to connect before i hear a ringing tone.

does anyone know a way to fix this or is it a flash the phone job?

Yeah the answerphone feature is built in, however the connection time will be down to your network, 3G takes a little longer to connect through, etc.

are you saying it goes to voicemail after 5 seconds? you need to contact your network operator if you can't change the setting from the phone.

If your talking about the forward call to # after 20 seconds you can safely disable it. Calls still go to voicemail, I found the call forward feature only useful if you want to forward to another phone or the Google Voicemail box.

Aw shucks I've been suffering from this exact bug for the past cople of weeks, but they started when my operator's network was having probs.

I happened to have to do a reflash this morning and at least today it hasn't acted like this.

I think it might've been apps like Jenirok that monitor calls that might've given me troubles like this before. What do you have installed?

the problem seems to be that when someone rings it the screen will light up and unlock but it takes so long for the phone app to load by the time it does it only actually rings for a few seconds. however the caller hears the ringing tone for the full

are you turning your phone? doesn't n900 mute when you flip it screen down?

hello

i my self have the same exact problem , when i call someone it takes long time before i hear the beeb and when some1 calls me it rings for 5S the silent .

i had the ame problem when I had custom ring tone installed. After I removed it all is fine
