iphone vs n900 shootout!
Friend and I were having some beers and we came up with a game - list your five favorite things about your phone.
Here were his (iphone 3g) 1) music player 2) the headphones have a nice button/speakerphone so you can pause music on a call 3) browser 4) How well the UI is thought out - eg there is a nice list of missed calls 5) Applications My 5 favorites 1) Open - gave some examples - skype integrated, chat integrated, no itunes, no media format limitations, voip, full unix, usb charge 2) fm transmitter 3) keyboard 4) browser 5) Media use - movies and ebooks (fbreader) 6) ( had to get this in): swiss army knife - n900 does everything that the iphone needs an accessory for - flash, video out, fm transmitter, fm receiver, ir transmitter, full keyboard, backlit My arguments against his five 1) Agreed music player on the iphone is better - but that is part of its origins as a music player 2) Nice feature - there are a couple of head phones with almost as good functionality or blue tooth headphones 3) browsers on n900 are more rich and there is more selection - but sites don't redirect as often to easier to use pages 4) .... personal preference 5) iphone apps are over rated - why not use a web application? Also the n900 apps are generally pretty good but agreed not as many as iphone His points - Mostly the iphone - "just works" and he never has to struggle like with his PC The UI is easy why doesn't the n900 accelerometer work as well as iphone (not all apps go landscape etc) on my #6 - thats why its so damn thick! |

Re: iphone vs n900 shootout!
Ha ha, these are always funny arguments. I gave up arguing with my manager about it, after his "oh, but Apple knows best." attitude. Just because Nokia doesn't have a Kill switch for their phones, is all the more reason for me to use them.
Android apparently has one, and iPhones certainly do. Does Nokia (even for Symbian phones?) have a kill switch, so they can send out a signal to all phones to delete some app that for whatever reason is 'unapproved?' slaapliedje |
