images on N900

hi.
is there any way to conceal images on your N900. i.e keep them hidden so they dont show up in the images. i have some pictures of a horse and cart that i want to use for our wedding that i dont want my fiance to see. so is there anyway i could hide them?

Have you tried renaming to remove the file extension? Would that work?

Make a folder called "Private" and move the images to it. The tracker won't look in it.

Re: images on N900

put the images in a hidden directory.

to create a hidden directory the name of the directory must begin with a ".".

instead of mydocs/images use mydocs/.images

Or put them in the tmp folder. Its not indexed and things do not get deleted out of there

thanks for the help, but i'm rather stupid when it comes to things like this, i'm a bit of a simple user so i wouldn't really know how to do what you're suggesting, so an idiots guide would be helpfull.

Re: images on N900

Ok..

1. Go to the Default File Manager.
2. Choose 'Nokia N900'
3. Click on 'File Manager' at the top-middle of the screen to bring down the menu.
4. Choose ' new Folder'
5. Name it "Private"
6. Copy anything you want private to it.

The default image browser will not be able to see it, but you can still access it from the file manager. Just keep your fiancée away from your file manager. Or you can create the folder in lots of sub-folders to confuse her. Naming a folder private will ensure the tracker from looking into it. In the N900, the tracker is responsible for tracking images, music and video and add them to the libraries.

thank you for the help. i dont need to do anything complicated she just looks at some of the photos we've taken, so a private folder will be fine thanks.
