Could open the terminal and write:

1. sudo gainroot
2. apt-get update
3. apt-get upgrade

and report the output

if you want to install a program:
1. sudo gainroot
2. apt-get install <program>

Okay when I tried your second option it says Could not open lock file (13 pemission denied)
Unable to lock the admin directory.

and when I tried your first option it says unable to lock the list directory

I reflashed the PR and it still didn't work. I'm gonna try and reflash the emmc right now

That means you didn't do the "sudo gainroot" or that you don't have rootsh installed.

Could you copy/paste the output of top? Open terminal and write "top" in it. To quit just press "q".

I did go to sudo gainroot and I have rootsh installed. I even re-flashed the emmc and PR 1.2 and it still doesn't work.

Some apps install and some don't but they use to such as Hermes. I can't install that or Pidgen. But I can install 3G/2G switcher and certain stuff I don't know if that info helps

Short term solution is to enable extras-testing, long term solution is for someone to fix https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11031

oh **** it worked! I just applied extras-devel and testing and it worked! HAHA YESS! THANK YOU!
