OC stops boot-video? Odd problem.
I've been OCing my N900 for quite a while now. For most of the time however, I'd boot into Maemo, go root, and load my OC profile with "kernel-config load oc1".
Recently, I decided to try setting it as default, as it has been completely stable with my OC settings. I set it to default with "kernel-config default oc1". The system works fine... but whenever I boot, I only see the first 3 or so frames of my boot-video. The -audio- plays, but the video "freezes". The system does finish booting, but the video frame stays on the screen until Hildon-desktop actually loads up. Note that that was with a max CPU of 950. If I limit it to 600, I get more of the video, but not all of it. With the -default- configuration however, the video plays fine etc etc. My configuration is as follows: Code:
MINFREQ=125 -Rob |
Re: OC stops boot-video? Odd problem.
probably voltages but dont know for sure I disabled my boot video. I overclocked mine with ideal and it crashed all the time. I had to go through all the processor speeds and lock the processor at each speed while multitasking (web video + mplayer video) to find my minimum voltage. i then raised that by 2 or three. my phone still crashed at startup sometimes (nokia screen and then blank, no blinking dots). i then reduced max speed in steps down to 900 before i didnt crash on boot ever. My voltages ended up at 500:31 550:34 600:39 700:46 750:48 805:51 850:54 900:57 950:65 1000:72
I tried 950 at 72 and i still had problems on boot with max at 950. |
