I just cant use Evince!
 

Hi. I have a N810, OS2008, etc.

For ages ive been trying to run evince on it, but i just cant. I can install the program, but it doesnt run. No error messages, nothing, the program just doesnt execute.

Im not that dumb, ive tried to fix it myself by searching the forums over here, but they all seem to be oriented for people who understand advanced programming, which obviously is not my case.

And installed the version that they developed, but i got the same result.

Apparently, i've got to have "libhidonfm2" installed, and its some kind of library, as seen on this website:

But i wasnt able to install it from the link avaliable.

Can someone please help me? I know its possible nowadays to have Evince on N810, ive seen people talking about it in topics and websites, and it would just be perfect for me to be able to read pdf with the device being hold vertically.

You said "no error messages", but have you run it from XTerm? Some messages show up only there. Just run XTerm, type evince, and report the results. My apologies if you've already done this.
