n900 on Rogers network

Hey guys

I finally resolved my battery issues with my n900, I booted it up and flashed it with the latest maemo 5 global release

the phone works fine to call out or text, but I can't seam to get the wifi to work, when I search for a connection it just times out and says no connections available.

anyone else here using this phone on Rogers? what am I doing wrong? Do I need to change or add a connection? I'm not too savvy when it comes to that stuff...

cheers in advance!

I'm on Fido, owned by Rogers and have no wifi issues.

wifi has nothing to do with rogers however, you will be using your own wireless access point or a friends or perhaps some free public one.

Are you trying to connect to your wireless?

yes trying to connect to my wireless, when I go to Internet Connections there is only the one set up named Rogers Internet which is listed as GPRS. When i try to set up or search for other connections nothing appears.

I thought maybe it had something to do with the way the phone was connecting to rogers?

I had the phone working a while ago before my battery crapped out, I don't remember having to do anything special to connect to wifi, but it's just not working anymore...

I've got "always ask" selected in internet connections.

Make sure that your router is brodcasting an ssd and you are in mixed mode instead of "n" only.

i must be missing some setting somewhere because it won't find anything to connect to. i live downtown so there should be dozens of wifi connections popping up...

Sorry not to get back to you sooner savage.

If you aren't seeing networks where you're sure you should, you may have defective hardware. Maybe you can try one of the diagnostic programs available here? I haven't used any so unless someone else chimes in...........
