Sox and mp3 support
 

Hello,

I installed sox for audio work and as "http://maemo.org/packages/view/sox/" supports MP3.

SoX is a cross-platform (Windows, Linux, MacOS X, etc.) command line utility that can convert various formats of computer audio files in to other formats. It can also apply various effects to these sound files, and, as an added bonus, SoX can play and record audio files on most platforms.

sox's help in N900 says that is not supported ... Can you help?

I know this is an old thread, but I do have the same question... I would like to use sox to read/write mp3 or ogg files, but this doesn't seems with the package in maemo.org...

does anyone knows if another version is accessible?

I find in extras-devel directory sox, but when trying install it says cannot install. How it can be install?
