How to run a program or a script when a wlan connection is made?
Hello
I want to run a program or a script whenever the N900 establishes a Wifi connection. At that point my script will check its ID and run an authentication code. I've seen that there was something called DBus-scripts for other tablets. 1) So, is there a version for the N900? 2) Would it be better to write another daemon (C or C++) that listens to DBuss sigals? If so, can you post pointers to examples? 3) is there anything already done that would allow me to specify the script that should be run? Thanks |

http://wiki.maemo.org/DbusScripts
That wiki page has all the information you'll need. Look for the dbus-scripts-settings package in Extras (or is it Extras-Devel?)-- it has presets for things like "charger connected" and "wlan connected" for actions. All you need to supply is your own script to run. Good luck! |

I made a post on how to automatically start a new VNC server process every time the N900 establishes a new network connection using an upstart script. Maybe useful to you.
