Sending SMSes via Skype?
 

Hey guys

I'm wondering. I occasionally send some SMSes abroad which is significantly cheaper via skype. I usually do so from my desktop, but would like to do so through my phone as well.

As such, I was wondering if it is in any way possible to send SMSes via Skype on the N900 specifically.

No they are not. :(

IMs are very different. I can only send those to skype users. I can send SMSes (actual SMSes) to any phone provided I have Skype Credit.

One way would be to use DialCentral or ToR on your N900 and send SMS for free. You'd need to create a Google Voice account - but then you can send SMS from your N900 or desktop for free.

Google voice is not available for my region. Is there really no way I can do this via Skype?

I want to know about this skype sms sending as well i couldnt find any way to do it... even video calling is available with skype this should be really easy for developers i dont undertand why this is not available? I expect a fast and easy way of sms sending from skype with the next meamo update...
