Usually when you ask this question, you shuld go for the N8 / sheep phone/Android device. From your post I take it you are an end user, so I'd say go for the N8.

Re: Recommend please! n900 vs n8
i'd for n900 or n9
why? linux and open source n9 will feature meego and n900 is maemo usually at stock, all *ALL* nokia phones are fast, later.. they slow up as more apps/widgets are added linux can overclock symbian is kinda limited in that matter but since ure a multimedia guy, wait for n9.. its a mixture of both.. im doing the same plus, you get ur beloved keyboard too |
Re: Recommend please! n900 vs n8
But another issue - usually the new high-end phones gets released with ******ed bugs still remaining.
The N900 still have quite a number of huge goofs. But Nokias next offering will need quite some time until it reaches the same level - under the assumption that Nokia doesn't decide to drop the support for that phone too... So if you are going to use the same phone full time for many years, the upcomming Nokia models may be a better choice. But for now, it is very hard to know when the new phone gets available and even harder to know when it gets available with the required maintainance release of the software. |

I would not go for the N900 though. I love it, but it is a difficult device and I know I am not using it to its fullest capacity because I am not very good at linux (yet?). I love having the linux option though, so that when I have time I can learn how to really go nuts. |
