Remap Enter to send SMS in Conversations
 

In addition to what the thread subject says, I'm specifically referring to the Enter/Return key found in the physical keyboard.

I've read in other similar threads that a lot of users wouldn't want to have this and would consider this a bug. That's their preference. I myself, who has been texting for more than 10 years haven't found any need to insert Newlines for formatting or other purposes.

In addition to that, I would also want to have C-Return bound to inserting a Newline, had the need to do it, actually arises.

Are these things doable?

What you propose would break standard and expected keyboard behavior. (I don't want that myself - I like the enter key to insert a new line - I do this often in text messages)

Conversations is a closed Nokia application so I suspect at this time you cannot remap the "Send" button to the enter key.

Although I can understand the small convenience of having the send button mapped to the keyboard, is it really that difficult just to tap the send widget 2 centimeters above "enter"?

If it were possible, rather than change default behavior, it would be much better to have two options:

1. Ctrl + Enter = Send
2. A configuration option somewhere that is disabled by default which allows Enter = Send.

i like typing in new lines
and enter will *accidently* waste my credit.. and its it too hard to move ur mouse across the keyboard?
i mean cmon man :S

Thanks for the responses.

@dchky: The mere fact that Conversations is not open, means there is little to nothing than can be done with it, for now.

@fahadj2003: For us here in the Philippines, it can be an inconvenience, since we have these so-called unlimited texting plans, available to most, if not all, providers.

Anyway, looks like the ideal solutions would be to wait for an application that does it, or I'll go and write one.
