OC'ing at 850 Mhz with "lv" stable, what voltage for 900 Mhz?

So using Jakiman's guide, ive 'load lv' and 'limits 250 850'. That's been stable for a month, awesome...

Now I want to do 900, for the sake of '900' :D so 'load lv' and 'limits 250 900' and a few minutes in, the phone will reboot. I've tried it about 3 times, and each time it ends up rebooting itself unexpectedly, anything I can do other than give up? Should I be loading a different voltage? ulv? Is my phone a party pooper?

P.S. Thank you Titan, and Jakiman, and everyone else involved...

well yeah, obviously you should try a different voltage. it's probably too low if it's rebooting that quickly. but, sometimes it can be that it was too high as well. I have lots of RAM that I almost RMA'd before realizing it is actually 100% stable at a lower voltage than advertised, but doesn't work as labeled.

i'm afraid you can't get an answer from anyone who haven't tried your phone, as the oc's is different from processor to processor. mine goes lv @ 1GHz, without problems, so i think you'll have to try for yourself and see what suits you.

Try loading default or try 950Mhz. (yes, weird but some don't like certain frequencies)

kernel-config load default
kernel-config limits 250 900

or

kernel-config load lv
kernel-config limits 250 950

try opening app manager , media player , browser if they dont crash and u dont see weird artifacts then its stable :)

was downloading an app, opened two youtube links and tlak.maemo.org, and streaming internet radio over wifi all at hte same time... it wasnt pretty, as the media player audio prevented me from hearing the youtube videos, but it did not crash, and the internet radio did not stutter even once!!! Pass!

Now, time to try 950 :LD :D :D:D

so, not having to do LV is desirable? I am 950 for the last 5 minutes downloading widelands, listening to media player on random, a fb im chat, and browing one microb browser... I think thats stable... Should I try LV, or just go straight to 1Ghz?

All a matter of how much you want to try and push your N900.
AFAIK, "noone" had their N900 die flat due to overclocking as of yet.
Also, before it dies flat, it will crash, hang or reboot anyways. =P

Lowering voltages is to reduce the stress/heat on the CPU.
So just try everything at stock default voltages first.
Then try lowering the voltages at the same frequencies if stable using default.
