Application Manager - Maemo.org or OVI??

Hi,
Does the application manager shows apps currently from both maemo & ovi? Or is it just showing the apps available only for mameo.org?

Any advice would help. Thanx.

It shows downloads only from Maemo.org (and any other repository you set it to), but it also shows apps from Ovi in the uninstall section.

I have a catalogue in my App Manager titled Ovi, which was factory set. Doesnt this mean I'm getting Ovi apps through the App Manager?

Yeah, Ovi installs come through App manager, as do ALL installs unless you go through x-term.

Try visiting a site that offers downloads for the N900, using your N900. Here's an example Rightware Kanzi UI and download the N900 demo.

Your N900 will tell you that you need to add the Rightware site to the repositories, which it will do if you allow it to do so. Then it will download and install via App manager.

No.
Afaik its just for updates, i think the reason you cant get apps from ovi through the app manager is because it would also contain the paid for apps with no way to pay for them (like they have any real security anyway:rolleyes:)

I'm actualy suprised nobody has hacked the ovi repo yet, its been mentioned a few times in previous threads, although even if they have i very much doubt it would be posted here:p

EDIT: As the guy above says you do get ovi apps through HAM, but you can't browse and install them from there, they will install only from the ovi site
