[HELP] Getting back to default Kernel
Hey guys,
I overclocked my Phone, enjoyed it an all, but after along usage I realized I don't need it anymore and I need more batterylife, so, I used the command in Xterminal to return me to the default Kernel, but it didn't.. yes it's true my speed got back to 600, but the "Info/Version" in "About Product" still show as Unknown..is there anyway to get it back to normal? as if it's a new device? Also "My Nokia" doesn't work, even before I overclocked, I reflashed several times but it doesn't work..anyway to fix that aswell? I hope I get answers for my two questions, and please forgive me if I didn't search enough in the forum for answers, thanks in advance. =] |
Re: [HELP] Getting back to default Kernel
You need to download the factory rootfs from Nokia:
http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N900.php Then you tell Mr. Flasher-3.5 to flash only the kernel, so everything else is intact. See here. This restored the "About Product" version info on my device. Also, type carefully, so you don't end up reflashing all of rootfs :) |
Re: [HELP] Getting back to default Kernel
Thank you very much ^^ I shall try this now and post back if it's solved =D
Edit: I just checked the site, but I'm not sure what to follow.. Should I follow this "Flashing only the kernel from a FIASCO image"? if so..Do I have to do it in my N900 or from the flasher in my PC? coz I noticed a "Sudo" command there..? |

Otherwise if you've got rootsh installed you can type:

Re: [HELP] Getting back to default Kernel
Use the volume keys to zoom out in terminal, then
Code:
dpkg -l mp-fremantle* Code:
apt-get --reinstall install $packagename |
