thats from the log. can anyone help? thanks

You can try using "manage repos" and disabling each of the repositories, exiting and then re-enabling them. That may clear any weird stuff. Also look at the entries for any obvious errors.
The alternative is directly editing the file mentioned. Installing "Filebox" can help with access to the normally hidden directories and files.
