Great news for Pearl and N800 Owners!!
Well, I just updated my phone to the latest software from Italy (4.2.1.66) and I decided to give DUN another shot on my N800.
It immediately dialed up and connected. Nothing fancy just the following settings: wap.cingular *99***1# login: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM pass: CINGULAR1 Kinda neat that the N800 drops the DUN as soon as I come in range of one of my preferred WiFi networks. This makes me quite happy, as I was about to purchase a new phone with the purpose of dialing up with my N800. When I get on the road, I'll look into the speeds, maybe with a speakyeasy test. =) If you have any questions let me know! |
Re: Great news for Pearl and N800 Owners!!
Would it help to add a comment mentioning the improved firmware to bug #1203 which appears to deal with Blackberry Bluetooth DUN connectivity issues?
I'm not really familiar with the Blackberry range of phones and don't know what issues you experienced prior to the new firmware, in which case if you don't think it's appropriate to add a comment then fair enough. |

On a side note, has anyone scratched their N800 touchscreen before? I had a rough edge on my fingernail (damn i should stop biting them) and it made a nice gouge =( I ordered some scratch removal products but I am very sad, any suggestions? Should have left the stock protector on until my real ones arrived. |

Ack!
From what i can tell it doesn't work on the 770 though. The latest Pearl firmware does seem to expose the DUN but the 770 still says it can't see any services it can use. This is very frustrating. Has anyone tried this on a 770 with the hacker edition? |
