Well for 150 - 200 dollar I could get device that can run Ubuntu/Android 2.1/Windows CE 6.0, has USB host, and plays 1080p video. The device seems pretty good for what it offers the Ubuntu part is a selling point of its own and it can run a good amount of Linux applications. Some Specs Operating System- Android 2.1, Windows CE, and Ubuntu Ram: 256mb Processor: Samsung Arm11 processor clocked at 600mhz overclockable to 800mhz Connectivity: Wifi 802.11b/g. Bluetooth 2.0, Mini Usb, and USB OTG Battery: 2,000mah Screen: 4.3 inch 800x480 resistive Touchscreen Audio Codec Support: MP3, OGG, WMA, FLAC, APE, AAC, WAV Video Codec Support: AVI, MKV, RM, RMVB, FLV, WMV, 3GP, MPEG, DAT, MP4. With support for DivX, Xvid, H.264, MPEG4, and Windows Media Storage: 2gb plus expansion through full sized sdhc cards. The device doesn't seem too bad for what if offers. This device would be a great Toy for Linux Geeks. |
Re: SmartQ V5
I think I will get one to do stuff like Run VLC, Pidgen, Transmission, Gimp, and Midori. The only thing missing from the device is the ability to play Youtube.

Re: SmartQ V5
The device seems to do a really good job playing video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddt7diNZizM. The only thing that turns me off about the device is that it does seem slow.

Re: SmartQ V5
The design and build quality seem very acceptable. Having a full sized SDHC card slot is definitely a plus for this device.

Re: SmartQ V5
The only real issue this thing is from China and wouldn't be able to provide support in English. However someone who would buy a device like this probably wouldn't care about support from the manufacturer.

Re: SmartQ V5
I think this device will be a worthy n810 replacement. Only problem is that it lack the excellent design, keyboard, and kickstand the n810 had.
