How to disable looking for software updates when going online?
..i couldn't believe it i only wanted to go online to get a quicker GPS lock .It shouldnt need more than 1kb of 3G -traffic and i only pay 23 euro cent for one megabyte.
However more than 1 Euro was charged from my prepaid card, because the N900 it was looking for software updates. (This takes very long and almost freezes the phone) . Is there a way to switch off the update notifyer? Thanks LQ |

Re: How to disable looking for software updates when going online?
I've read the wiki and have changed the value 1440 to 144000 with gconf. That was many days ago.
Still, when I connect to the internet, I get update notifications without me going through the App manager. Are we sure this change is enough? |

Re: How to disable looking for software updates when going online?
Yes almost three months. I want to check for updates manually.
Is there possibly a different behaviour when the connection is cellular data rather than wireless connection? Because now that I notice better, I think I get update notifications when I have wireless internet. I will check better now. |
