i install aptitude but don't work, crash all the time
 

hello friends, I recently installed aptitude, using the Fast aplication manager, but when I try to run aptitude from the menu or aptitude from the console starts charging a moment, then closes and returns me this error in the console.

Ouch! Got SIGSEGV, dying ..
Segmentation fault

I tried several things, like I uninstall and install it using apt-get, but I can not make it work anyone can help me?.

Also I have another problem, I installed the program liqcalendar, but always when I run it loads a few seconds and then closes, do not know if that will have something to do.

You got the binarys from extras-devel right?

So probatly it isn't ready. So try to help coding or wait :D

Btw. Aptitude for n900 sounds like a great future :D

aptitude 4 n900 does not work. seg fault.

aptitude ncurses UI does not work as already reported by MohammadAG whom ported the application across to maemo.

That said, aptitude <args> does work however.

Apparently it does not work because of some library is either corrupt or sources were never released.

The GUI seems to work when building aptitude without optimization (DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=noopt dpkg-buildpackage).

why this package is not removed from extras-devel if didn' work at all?

Cause extras-devel is exactly the place where you can find things that don't work, at all. You're welcome to grab it's sources and make it work.
