How do you activate SIM lock requirement upon boot?
 

I have a lock code on my SIM card, and also device/phone lock code. But it only asked me to input the SIM lock code the first time I put the SIM card in. After that, it only asked for the phone lock code upon reboot / switching on. I have these codes different so I am sure about what is what.

In the settings,I do have the ask for PIN code option checked. I want the phone to ask for the SIM lock code every time it boots. How do I do this?

iirc you need to set that in Settings > Phone

Like I said, I have the option to ask for a SIM lock code checked in the phone settings. But it never asks for one. Try it yourself and you'll see.

I think the sim lock code is used only whenever sim card has changed (ie when you remove and reinsert sim). At least that's how it works one or two of my other phones.

i actually had the same issue when i forst got my n900 and i dont recall a feature from within maemo that allowed for this. what i ended up doing was pulling out my trusty n82 and using symbian to set the power up code requirement.

if you have access to a symbian device then try that.

Actually you can turn on or off that option in N900 (see the first few posts above). What I am looking for is a way to make it ask for the SIM lock code every time it boots up.
