Hermes replacement?
 

I just got my phone back from a long repair and it seems that Hermes seems to have stopped working. Can anyone suggest another way of getting all the info from Facebook into my contacts db?
Specifically I was also eying info like messenger/icq/aim usernames, etc...

Any suggestions?

Did u try reinstalling Hermes?
Or delete the accounts from Hermes and add them again.
I dont think you'll be able to retrieve contact info from FB due to their privacy system. You would have to add it manually.

the only way to get contact detail from facebook is importing contacts of facebook from yahoo. Then there will be choices to import it to n900.

Well, the yahoo works well but it seems that it only supports email, there is a grease monkey script that support phone numbers.
Facebook sucks! :)
Meanwhile I am trying other options...

Erm.. What about reporting the error to the author of Hermes (Jaffa) and looking for a way to fix the bug, so you can continue to use Hermes? It's not like apps are set in stone and they can't be fixed or updated, you know :) Just make sure you included as much info as possible in your bug report (the exact error message, any output on the Terminal, etc..).

Well with some playing around with it I got it to mostly work, but I am still looking for a way to sync messenger info etc...
I will post here if I find something...

There's an open bug with the move of Twitter to OAuth. Refactoring LinkedIn's OAuth stuff so that there's a common API is my strategy there, but days are short and refactoring (especially in a dynamic language) is long and laborious. There also seems to be a bug in birthdays from Facebook in the latest version.

How come I can't seem to open the programme anymore?
