How to stop Facebook IM account synchronising contacts
 

Hey people,

Is there any way to stop the Facebook IM function on N900 automatically populating your contacts list? I like the idea of being able to sign into Facebook chat with Availability but not the way that it adds every single one of my facebook friends, most of whom I never talk to. I've merged all the ones I can, but it seems every time I reconnect, it re-creates the contacts.

I'm sure some people love this functionality but for me it just clutters up my contact list with people I'll probably never contact.

Is there a way I can stop it resync'ing them all now I have all the ones I want merged?

i don't like it either, but i noticed if you go offline it gets rid of them but it keeps the merged ones I think. I never really use FB chat anyway so i just disable it, if i want it i enable it, chat to who i want to, then disable again.

I know it's not the best solution, but as far as i'm aware it's the only one. The same is true for all other IM accounts, and if you delete them they get deleted from the serve (i.e. removed from your friends list)
