I know Nokia has no interest in porting qt 4.6 to Diablo OS2008 for N8x0 users but has anyone researched how difficult it would be to compile qt4.6 for us users of older tablets?

I have libqt4-dev installed and I can run applications developed using Qt Creator 1.3.1 which targets Qt 4.6. Are you asking for something different?
