Holographium -- Paint words with light and camera
is there any comparable N900 compatible application like this one:
http://www.petapixel.com/2010/09/14/...using-an-ipad/ I read about the concept last year, and now they have it as iphone app. http://www.petapixel.com/2010/11/01/...ad/#more-18428 would be nice to have such on the N900. |
Re: Holographium -- Paint words with light and camera
hi :),
This is a good find ;) but i dono if anyone would want to work on this for N900. im sorry but this is the most ridiculous project i have ever seen. is it useful for anything? no! can one person just do it alone? no! and i think this also requires very expensive cameras. plz tell me if im wrong.. but what actually they are doing is taking HDR pics with ipad standing virtical with a different image in every frame. dude you can do this urself on anyphone.. make a slide show on ur phone and use the expensive slr cameras to take photos... the only difference is that ipad has got a bigger screen which apple is taking an advantage of.. i will be amazed if anyone work on this for N900 :P but i must say pennywise i like what you are doing.. this helps keeping the community alive and bring new ideas to maemo :D Thanks man! |

You should be able to do that with any phone or tablet screen. Pretty cool technique though.

nice when taking long exposure shots on festivals, festival crowds etc. not for everyday use, but on its occasion's for me still usefull, at least as a fun/gimmick here and there. Quote:
but ok, lets say: it's a Multiplayer gimmick? ;) Quote:
its sort of true indeed its a playing picture frames/slides which combined make the tekst. But that would take LOTS of work doing this manuall in a slideshow player. Not to mention this work needs to do done for each new textline. The software can do this realtime. input text and convert to slides on the fly. and hey thats what computers are for eh? do things for us :) Even though i have some nice fullframe pro camera's , you would not need them either. any camera (like another n900) capable of taking long exposure shots would work fine. |

:D ever heard about these things called tripods? what about these things that are more common: tables, chairs, big rocks, cupboards? any camera capable to long exposures suffices, probably every single camera ever sold.... |
Re: Holographium -- Paint words with light and camera
you could try creating the stuff with blender. it might lag considderably and i don't know if the memory is sufficient(well you can use swap but that slows it down even more). but might be worth a try...
at least playing the result(after doing it on the pc) should be possible. you can play an avi so. |
