N900 music stutters on unlock
 

Hi,

Does anyone know or have this problem, and know how to fix?

Ex. when i have music on, and when the phone locks, if i unlock it from the right side using the lock key, it unlocks ok, without stutter. If i press the power key, that presents the slider unlock, music stops, and continues in a second.

At first with PR 1.2 i had this, and i though it is normal, and i got used to it, thought maybee some day it will be fixed. Then came pr. 1.3 and as soon as i installed it (freshly without any apps installed yet), the issue was gone. I thought hurray, 1.3 fixed the issue. I didn't had the stutter again. But then installed all the apps i used (i don't consider my self heavy app installer, installed apps that i like having and use often), and the issue appeard again.

So, my suspition is on some of the apps. Maybee the extra codecs pack, but this is just a wild guess.

Anyone know what might be causing, or how to fix it?

I have the issue also when browser changes mode from horisontal to vertical.

I've got this issue aswell, I think many people have aswell

I'm sure I read on this forum that the problem was the n900 has very little memory allocated to the running of the media player...I could be wrong though

do you have the subtitles support installed? I reported this bug with that package installed and it's fixed in the lastest update, waiting for voting to reach extras.

By the love of god!!! Was it that simple?!?!?

I almost gave up on resolving this issue and it was just about removing subtitles support!!!

You're welcome.

The version in extra-testing has fixed this bug. If you try it please vote for promotion so we can have the fixed version in extras. :)

javiermon, that totaly worked.

I enabled EXTRAS-TESTING, disabled maemo.org, updated (only subtitles), and voilla. Now works both for browser and music unlock.

To all there having the same problem:
1. You can do same as i did (update the subtitles like that), but DONT update all apps that get in your list, i got 5-6 apps that were in the apps list, these are updates from EXTRAS-TESTING, hence, they need to be tested before officially available;
2. Wait for the subtitles to be officially available.

Any "official" will reccomend the second step, but why did you buy the N900 in the first place? ;)
