My home made adapter and host mode
2 Attachment(s)
Here is my home made adapter, took around 15 min to make, USB 2.0.
I am using a Sandisk 1.0GB "Cruzer" As you can see I had full access to the file system thanks to h-e-m and Titan's Power45 Kernel. The adapter was salvaged from an old computer that was sitting in my garage. I hope you all enjoy.:D |

Re: My home made adapter and host mode
Let me state this first and foremost - this is not a permanent solution, it is fragile and could be disrupted easily by interference. As you can see in the photo I left one of the USB stock almost unmodified (I broke the connector off the end). It came out of a computer from 2002 that I built.
I first got a pair of pliers and crushed the adapter that is normally at the ends of the cables (they plug into your mother board) then I simply stripped down the other rubber , the foil, and the weaving until I got to the 4 wires; red, white, black, and green. I did that to the other end, stripped both, and connected the two and wrapped each up in electrical tape. I then wrapped all the wires together because I did not solder them. Connected it to my N900 - it worked, now I am in the market for a more permanent solution. So if you have Titan's Power Kernel >44, and h-e-m this is the last thing you need to use host mode on your N900! and we all have TONS of spare USB parts laying around. 10 - 15 min max. 30 if you want it to look pretty. |
