Hi Sohma,

welcome to maemo.

I moved your post from Brainstorm to Applications and let it become it's own thread.

Please write as you speak or at least as it is readable. (There is a funny way to write things I came along lately, as long as the first and the last character of a word match, the length eg the number of characters and the type of characters are the same as the word you want to write it is getting readable. I don't care but others do.)

You could just use Bash http://maemo.org/packages/view/bash/

Re: BusyBox - Any alternatives or upgrades?

Bash on its own doesn't really replace busybox. To replace busybox's cutdown utils with the real McCoy install coreutils-gnu (and set $PATH accordingly)

I don't think you should try to replace Busy Box; that's a bad project for a noob. You would actually want to have a good reason for such a project.

You really should try to use regular spelling more. Of course, if you want to minimize the number of people who read your messages and get the worst advice you can get, you have adopted a great strategy. But if you want well-informed opinion, you should try communicating clearly. I doubt that I can convince you, so that's the last suggestion I have for you. :)

If you have to ask then you really shouldn't be doing it. If you insist on doing it then you could start here:

http://wiki.maemo.org/User:Joerg_rw/tools
with the section "proper bash and tools"

And search the forum, there are a few threads floating around.

+1. Using "abbreviations" and misspellings and dropping vowels may be OK when you're txting but on a forum it's just sloppy and uncool.
