In a terminal (everything in the directory of downloading of the previous archives)
bzip2 - d meego-handset-armv7l-n900-1.1-mmcblk0p.raw.bz2

To insert microSD (but not to mount it or to umount it if amount in automatic.)
To know the name of the device in Linux:
sudo fdisk - l

The /dev/sdX is used ace an example on your PC this might sees also called /dev/mmcblk0, /dev/sdc or something else).

To copy file .rw to microSD:
sudo dd bs=4096 if=meego-handset-armv7l-n900-1.1-mmcblk0p.raw of=/dev/mmcblk0
To hope ......

To create one third partition FAT32 (with Gparted) after which they were created in automatic with the previous commando (not to erase anything).

To install:
sudo apt-get install uboot-mkimage
And to write:
mkimage - To arm - Or linux - T kernel - C - n vmlinuz- none - to 80008000 - and 80008000 2.6.35.3 - 5.2-n900 - d vmlinuz- 2.6.35.3 - 5.2-n900 uImage

Mount microSD and copy the resulting uImage to the root of the new FAT partition.

To have update PR1.3
To install u-boot PR1.3 (caution, changes kernel and some programs MAEMO they can not to work)
Turn OFF your N900.
To insert microSD

Turn ON N900, this would initiate MEEGO.

If you do not wish that it initiates MEEGO and you do not want to move the microSD each that you reboot, in boot it presses a key before the time of boot finishes and writes

run noloboot

With this it would initiate MAEMO without greater problem

Esperar……

Crear una tercera particion FAT32 (con Gparted) después de las que se crearon en automático con el comando anterior (no borrar nada).

Instalar:
sudo apt-get install uboot-mkimage

Y escribir:
mkimage -A arm -O linux -T kernel -C none -a 80008000 -e 80008000 -n vmlinuz-2.6.35.3-5.2-n900 -d vmlinuz-2.6.35.3-5.2-n900 uImage

Copiar el archivo resultante "uImage" a la raiz de la nueva particion FAT32 partition.

Tener la actualizacion PR1.3
Instalar u-boot PR1.3 (cuidado, cambia el kernel y algunos programas MAEMO podrian no funcionar)
Apagar tu N900.
Insertar microSD
Encender N900, esto iniciara MEEGO.

Si no deseas que inicie MEEGO y no quieres retirar la microSD cada que reinicies, en el boot presiona una tecla antes de que termine el el tiempo de boot y escribe
run noloboot

Con esto iniciara MAEMO sin mayor problema

Muy bueno tio ahora si que funciona sin problemas...lo unico que efectivamente el uboot te cambia los kernels...me quito los kernel-power y ahora no puedo usar otros programas pero bueno...una pregunta te iba a hacer no sabras hacer lo mismo pero esta vez instalando ubuntu 9.10 en la sd-card..thx tio

No entiendo que es lo que queres hacer.
Quieres que ubuntu funcione en el N900????
Si es eso, aun no he encontrado esa info... pero no creo que se pueda con esa version de Ubuntu u otra similar.
Supe de una version de ubuntu que se esta o estaba desarrollando para dispositivos moviles, netbooks y otros, pero no tengo mas datos por ahora.

es posible utilizando la version para ARM de ubuntu 10.10 y tambien es posible instalarlo en la sd card y arrancarlo desde ahi utilizando el kernel de meego, es un poco dificil pero se puede hacer

that is possible but its kinda difficult, you have to use a special ARM based ubuntu10.10.img and boot it using the meego kernel with u-boot

It seems that the process of installation of Ubuntu 10,10 is very similar, perhaps have problems with the hardware of the N900.

Exactamente compañeros a eso me referia a la version ARM que en esta pagina pone lo hace pero a mi personalmente no me sale si vosotros podeis mirarlo...lo hace con la version 9.10...El link es este
