Politics on the Maemo site? The political sphere where our rights are awarded or eroded. This could get ugly as issues at the core of our moral constructs are in play here. Do the public have a right to know what pressures are faced and applied in their name? Do the government have a right to keep information from the governed? How we answer these questions, not simply in this case but in general, makes a difference to how we would like to see governments toward each other.
We are on Maemo.org because we are fans of openess. This situation gives us all a possibilty of assessing our beliefs about openess on a larger scale. |
