metal detector app for N900
 
hi all .... I am amazed by the metal detector app on N8 .... I'd like to know if this app is available for N900 or would it be possible to make one ???

No idea ... but i think it recognises the metal when kept near it's usb slot on it's left side ...

Compass? I was imagining it would work by combining the FM transmitter and the receiver, emiting a signal and then analyzing how the echo gets distorted...

the n8 has a compass (magnetometer actually). the n900 doesn't. By the way I heard of a nice app for android - that is a tricorder (like the ones in startrek) using all the available sensors (luxmeter, sound, magnetometer if available, gps, and so on) to present every possible kind of data to the user. Do we have anything like that?
