how fast is your firefox?
Hey guys! Just a quick question, how long those it take for you to make your Firefox on your n900 run? From pressing the icon to actually issuing a command.
Mine is around 10 to 15 seconds and I find that to be too much. |

MicroB pre-loads into memory at boot. Firefox does not. So of course it takes longer to load, but it uses no memory when not in use.

Thanks for those fast response! First I thought it might have been something I downloaded, but as you said, the integrated browser will start faster.

Edit: Wow, it is quite fast and responsive! The only minor downside I found is the page loading, now and then its clunky, but all in all, an improvement! Thanks again. |
Re: how fast is your firefox?
For me, incredible slow. Not only the loading time, but normal use after it -finally- starts.
And it takes most of the cpu. Sometimes it freezes my n900 for minutes. I use firefox on my n900 only when I want to go to a website I visited on my computer, so thanks to firefox sync I can copy/paste the URL into MicroB. |
Re: how fast is your firefox?
firefox has been way too slow for my taste. opera mobile seems very quick when on wifi, but on 3g/3.5g it often hangs for me. microb otoh is consistent, though not as quick as opera ( these of course are not based on any scientific method of measuring browser speed :)). as i use srware's iron (chromium) and opera on my laptop, i seldom get to enjoy the benefits of syncing.
