N810 Keyboard Light EverOn
Hey all people. I know that someone had posted this "tutorial" some tima ago, but, as I coudn't find it, I been looking into mce.ini and find something interesting, so, for those ones that use the N810 at night, specially without light in the room, its very annoying when we have to close and re-open the keyboard slider to turn the backlight on again.
Do this in your tablet: as root: Quote:

Oh is this the script you wanted packaged? (except it's actually a config file you are overwriting)

I'm working on a more elegant approach using sed + zenity

@tuliobaars
Did you actually test this? This does NOT work for me (tried 2 N810 installs). -_- which is annoying because I didn't bother to verify if it works until after I wrote a toggle script. GUI (zenity) Script I wrote: http://p7230.homelinux.com/maemo/key..._0.1-1_all.deb Mirror: http://www.box.net/os2008/1/38267044/575865009 # dpkg -i keytimelight_0.1-1_all.deb # keytimelight (follow GUI instructions; needs to be run as root on first-run) # exit $ keytimelight (and no I won't upload to extras because it doesn't work. If I come across the magic bit of code that loads the /etc/mce/mce.ini file then I'll see about that) Source: http://p7230.homelinux.com/maemo/key...t_0.1-1.tar.gz http://p7230.homelinux.com/maemo/keytimelight_0.1-1.dsc Mirror'd @ http://www.box.net/os2008/ Anyway my [interactive] script changes the two lines that are different in the mce.ini file you posted but after reboot I don't notice a difference. Clearly something else needs to be altered too. |
