Re: My Conversations don't save anymore?

reflashing always solves a problem :D wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_tablet_firmware
but its like completely reinstalling the whole operating system (like when u just got your n900)
but u keep ur user files, like music and pictures.
and u can backup settings, contacts, calendar and application list :)
if you dont wanna do that then sorry i got nothing else :(

Re: My Conversations don't save anymore?

i have to sleep soon, its midnight here :(
ill try and help as much as i can :)
haha dont worry!
ill try to make this as easy to understand as possible:

1. download the maemo_flasher-3.5_2.5.2.2_i386.dmg file from here: tablets-dev.nokia.com/maemo-dev-env-downloads.php

2. download the firmware image that you want from here tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N900.php
(this is the operating system for your phone)

3. copy it into the root of the flasher3.5 folder. to do this you right click on the application and click show package contents and just drag it. i suggest u rename ur firmware to something short because ur gonna have to type it out.

4. open maemo flasher 3.5

5. type in
sudo /usr/bin/flasher-3.5 -F <firmware-image> -f -R
but without the < and >

6. turn off ur n900 and connect it to the computer with usb while holding down the U button on the n900 keyboard.

if it works, it should simply reflash your n900.
if it doesnt, itll say whats wrong and u can maybe google that and find a solution.

and im sleeping now :)

hope i helped!

Re: My Conversations don't save anymore?

Esther,

It really isn't that complicated to be honest. I too was new to the whole "flashing of nokia n900" but then I did it once and it worked miracles. All you literally have to do is follow this link:

http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_f...ng_your_device

Just copy that into the internet explorer and literally follow the steps it gives for flashing your n900 on a MAC.

Let me know how it goes on for you.
