Battery charges slower then i use it
Hello,
i plugged out my phone today morning with a charge of "84%". Right now it's connected to the charger (all the day) and here we go: Code:
root@Nokia-N900 ~ # lshal | grep battery.charge_level.percentage I am using Internet (3G) over my Nokia N900 with Joikuspot - but even USB does not help .... |
Re: Battery charges slower then i use it
Something to bare in mind when checking the battery level is that it isn't updated until after you take it off charge.

Re: Battery charges slower then i use it
I did. After 2 Minutes waiting here we go:
Code:
root@Nokia-N900 ~ # lshal | grep battery |
Re: Battery charges slower then i use it
If you are charging with USB, this happens and you should try another connection.
Did it ever work? I use a separate charger. It cost about $10. |
Re: Battery charges slower then i use it
I charged by wall charger, now i put to usb, still 0% but i will keep it in for some hours and give Feedback over here.
Edit: Now i connected a No-Break between charger and Energy, maybe it's just shitty energy today. We'll see. Still using wall charger now. But i think it will not solve the problem too... Edit 2: I think it's Joikuspot. I connect now to direct USB Connection over Nokia OVI Suite. Let's see if it's getting my phone charged. But maybe somebody elese have that problem when using N900 as a 3G Modem? |
Re: Battery charges slower then i use it
I installed BatteryGraph now and logging there the charge in %, hopefully it's working when it's connected to a charger - does it?

Re: Battery charges slower then i use it
Right now I found out:
If the internet 3G is disconnected it charges - wallcharger or USB - if i use the n900 as a modem it will not charge sufficient. Have somebody the same problem here? |

Believe it or not: After a reboot that issue is solved.
Maybe because due a kernel update i made? Funny. |
Re: Battery charges slower then i use it
Joikuspot adds a constant 300-500mA drain. Charging from a USB host would at best keep the battery level from falling.
Add 3g on top, which can consume 200-600mA extra, and you'd be losing charge fast. The maximum charge from wallcharger is 950mA, and connecting it makes N900 draw 100mA extra since PR1.3. The power balance is thus -300-200-100 + 950 = 350 at best and -300-600-100 +950 = -50 at near worst. Using usb instead of the wifi is a drop of 300mA in consumption, but USB host is limited to 500mA. Thus you have a range of -200-100+500 = +200 to -600-100+500 = -200 |
