qtirreco (or even infrared in general) stop working

Hello,

i'm having problem with qtirreco, or maybe with infrared more in general.

i installed qtirreco some time ago, and after many tryes i found the correct remote to control my toshiba TV.
the problem is that it work for a short time, than it stopped. the same control that work since 5 min ago is not working anymore.
i try to change control, to change tv, nothing....

i search the forum and found someone say that with a camera you can see infrared light, so i film while pressing sme button of qtirreco, and in fact i can't see any light.
i use the nokia E90 camera.

so if someone would be so kind to give me some help to:
1) check, and be SURE, if my infrared work
2) understand what can appened, and why qtirreco not rok anymore

thank you very much

Enjoynt

I'm sorry I'm in a hurry and didn't read your whole message. Try the Irreco widget. QtIrreco doesn't work for me either, the widget does.

YEAH MAN!!!

thank you 4 your help, the widget work....
this also make me feel better about broken infrared.

now, widget is usefoul and "better than nothing" but still remain the question of why the full qtirreco work for a few minutes and than stop.

i search a read many post of users experience similar or same problem, but do not find any solution. the only workaround i beleive can help is to move the ir file i download froml qtirreco from one folder to another.
someone can tell me exactly what folders are?

Re: qtirreco (or even infrared in general) stop working

I myself repaired the problem by uninstalling and purging qtirreco and lirc ("apt-get purge qtirreco" and "apt-get purge lirc"). Then remove (or rename) the qtirreco folder in MyDocs and reboot. After this just install qtirreco again and it should work

I found out how to solve this problem . Uninstall qtirreco , delete qtirreco from MyDocs , reinstall it , download or make your remotes , then make a backup of qtirreco folder from mydocs , everytime it stops working just copy that backup folder on MyDocs , overwrite all files .
