NITdroid + BackupMenu + Maemo 5 + OC solution with a few problems.
Original post
http://my-symbian.com/forum/viewtopi...=383460#383460 just copy what I wrote there... I've finally made following the steps explained here, and works pretty well, now I have some problems. - Nitdroid not have very good wifi signal and do not know why the AP to my router did not detect it, but this next to the router, however it found other networks. Well but this is not for this topic. - Another problem is that I am a kernel-power off, and when I kernel-config to install a aplicaccion, I get the error: please make sure That kernel-power is installed and running. if You Have just installed the kernel, You Need to shutdown and boot to activate it. To reinstall the kernel power user run: 'Apt-get install - reinstall kernel-kernel-power power-flasher' Well I think the solution is, in this post, installing a couple of things, I do not know if I'm right. http://forum.nitdroid.com/index.php?...ge;topic=106.0 Code:
apt-get install kernel-power-bootimg : You Might want to run 'apt-get-f install' to correct these. The Following Packages Have unmet dependencies: backupmenu: Depends: bootmenu-n900 But it is not installed E: unmet dependencies. try using -f. I can somehow make apt-get and not ask me again, install bootmenu because it is not necessary. It could change in some way to bootmenu not ask me to install bootmenu? when I finally everything works, I'll make a guide to run everything. |
Re: NITdroid + BackupMenu + Maemo 5 + OC solution with a few problems.
I've finally make it to work with kernel-power too !!!!!
I first removed backupmenu. Code:
apt-get remove backupmenu Code:
apt-get install kernel-power-bootimg Code:
dpkg --force-depends-i ./backupmenu_0.56-1_all.deb now there are 4 entries 1 maemo stock 2 maemo kernel-power 3 nitdroid 4 backupmenu Although I still have the error: : You Might want to run 'apt-get-f install' to correct these. The Following Packages Have unmet dependencies: backupmenu: Depends: bootmenu-n900 But it is not installed E: Unmet dependencies. try using-f. Even so, apt-get update gives me no errors and it seems that applications are installed the same even if I leave the error. So thats will have installed kernel-power, will need to install ... Code:
apt-get install kernel-power-bootimg |

I suppose that this can be resolved at least in two ways:

Re: NITdroid + BackupMenu + Maemo 5 + OC solution with a few problems.
I just posted a "manual install" instruction on the last page of my BackupMenu topic that might interest you guys - Note, however, that if you go this route you won't be able to automatically upgrade to the latest version with apt-get or the package manager - You'll have to manually upgrade it by running the same steps again.
Link to the topic's in my signature. |
Re: NITdroid + BackupMenu + Maemo 5 + OC solution with a few problems.
BackupMenu works correctly with multiboot (with multiboot patched) but it works at one condition.
The last booted OS before BackupMenu MUST BE MAEMO. The ITEM script proposed doesn't suggest to multiboot a kernel to use, so multiboot uses the last flashed kernel. If you will run BackupMenu after you have used Nitdroid or MeeGo, BackupMenu will not start correctly. In these cases you must before boot to Maemo Os and then reboot to use BackupMenu Or multiboot script must be changed to assure that BackupMenu will always be started with a Maemo's kernel (stock or power kernel) |
