Beginners Guide to Install Nitdroid v0.0.9

Hello,

I currently do not have any previous Nitdroid installed or even any partitions on my 16GB memory card.

Please give instructions on how to Install Nitdroid v0.0.9 step by step for a first time beginner.

I tried the following as per instructions on Nitdroid.com :
1. Enable extras devel
2. root
3. apt-get install nitdroid-installer
4. nitdroid

However, I am getting stuck here :
Uninstalling any incompatible software ...done
Formatting /dev/mmcblk1p1 (vfat) ...done
Formatting /dev/mmcblk1p2 (ext3) ... Bailing out

Please help with step by step instructions to install Nitdroid v0.0.9.

Thanks.

That seems to help only if I already had v0.0.8 installed.. However, I am doing a fresh install and do not have any partitions installed..

No, no, no ;)
It's about installing a fresh copy of NITDroid in the internal memory (eMMC).

For nitdroid 0.0.9 do this

Quote:

Let me just break it down, this is what i did from start to end.... maybe it helps some people Grin

>>> Add the extra-devels repository in the application manager. Refer to the instructions here to add the repo: http://wiki.maemo.org/Extras-devel
>>> Download FapMan(Fast Application Manager)
>>> In FapMan, download the NITDroid Installer, this will install the NITDroid icon in your menu..
>>> Open the web browser and go to "http://downloads.nitdroid.com/nitinstaller/nitdroid-installer_0.2.7_armel.deb" and download ver 2.7 by Jay-C and store at a desired location on the phone.
>>> Go to the location you saved ver 2.7 and just click on it, this will take you to the application manager and show that it is updating the application... (this will remove the NITDroid icon from the menu, dont worry)
>>> After that open up xTerminal and type "nitdroid"
>>> After a while depending on your connection....Voila.... You're done... Smiley reboot into nitdroid

NOTE : Remember to go through all other related threads before trying this... the above steps worked for me but you might just face some other errors like other people (for which help is available)....

Thanks again Jay-C for your help...

What is the most stable and functional version of nitroid to install? The wiki makes it sound so easy but reading the "can you smell it?" thread makes it way over my head. I'm running kernal v46 which was installed with h.e.n. Thanks
