Getting POI's
I'm about to take a trip and I want to load POI's into Maemomapper. Can anyone point me to somewhere I can get a POI DB and how to get Maemo to load it?
Thanks in advance. |
Re: Getting POI's
Google is your friend. :)
There are lots of sites offering free Poi files. These file will mostly be for garmin, tomtom etc but you can convert and import them using my program Poi_Loader see http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...9345#post49345 and http://www.rikcull.f2s.com/ This is Windross only for now but there are linux and N800 versions in the pipeline. |

You can tap on the POI, do not lift your stylus till it shows some popup menu, in that you can find some menu item which is suitable for your need. is itn't? I do not have my 770 right now, but i remember seeing such kind of option. |
Re: Getting POI's
i have loaded couple of dbs from gpspassion.com. it is cool but only problem is all POIs(regardless of category ) are showing with blue square on the maps, so it is kind of difficult to identify what kind of POI it is untill i tap on that POI.
